Amy Ashmore holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS in Exercise & Sports Sciences from Florida State University. Her extensive experience as a fitness instructor and personal trainer include teaching and training for corporations, colleges, and fitness centers. Mary Essert, BA, ATRI
Mary holds a BA in English from Hendrix College and advanced study in Aging and Human Services from College of DuPage. She has been involved internationally in presenting and teaching swimming, safety, water fitness, and therapeutic intervention techniques since 1949. Her experiences with breast cancer, fibromyalgia, and other chronic pain conditions have prompted her to share her expertise in aquatic exercise and rehab with others. Her seminars, workshops and videos re: older adults, rheumatic conditions, breast cancer and warm water bodywork have helped many instructors and individuals. She serves as an instructor trainer for the Arthritis Foundation, Red Cross WSI and holds many instructor certifications. In addition to her consultant work, she is currently employed by Conway Regional Health Systems (Conway, AR).
Mary recently received the Arkansas Governor's Council on Fitness 2009 Leadership in Fitness Award in the Senior Category in November 2009, and has also recently been asked to serve as Advisory Committee member for the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF).

Tomas Gregor, PhD
Dr. Gregor earned his doctorates in psychology and education (specialty in Physical Education and Sports) from University Comenius in Bratislava, Slovakia. Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D.
President and Medical Director Alzheimer's Research & Prevention Foundation
Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D., was born in Ohio and was raised in Florida. Since he founded the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF) in 1993, he has been serving as its President and Medical Director. The ARPF is the original voice in the integrative or holistic medical approach to Alzheimer's prevention and treatment, and is dedicated to fighting Alzheimer's disease and finding a cure through research and prevention.
Dr. Khalsa graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in 1975, and received his postgraduate training in anesthesiology at the University of California, San Francisco where he was chief resident. As chief resident, he conducted highly acclaimed research on anesthesia for cardiac surgery and obstetrical anesthesiology. He is also a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Acupuncture for Physicians Program, and has studied mind/body medicine at Harvard Medical School's Mind/Body Medical Institute. Dr. Khalsa is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management, and he is a diplomat of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
In 1987, Dr. Khalsa established the first holistic pain program in the Southwestern United States at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1990, he was recruited to become the founding director of the Acupuncture, Stress Medicine, and Chronic Pain Program at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine's teaching hospital in Phoenix. In this position, he became the first director of acupuncture in an American medical school.
After founding the ARPF in 1993, he became the first physician to advocate a lifestyle approach to the prevention and treatment of memory loss, including Alzheimer's. He is among the world's leading authorities on integrative medicine, and has written extensively on a wide range of health and healing issues.

Katrien Lemahieu, MESN
Katrien was born in Belgium, but currently lives in the Netherlands. Her studies include Physical Education and she is specialized in Special Movement Education for the younger child. She worked for the Dutch Swimming Foundation NPZ|NRZ as an AquaFitness Specialist and Consultant for the North Region, has taught aerobics since 1996 and has taught aqua fitness since 2000. Katrien is an international presenter for AquaFitness since 2005 and is known for her enthusiasm and energy. June has been serving the fitness industry since 1978. She taught elementary physical education for 6 years before completing her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Health Enhancement in 1985. Michael McElveen
Michael McElveen holds a bachelor's of science in health science and a master of science in sports medicine. Michael has been instructing the two-day Nutrition for Professionals course with Dr. Jane since July 2011. He began instructing the course after completing the sports nutrition certificate program through AASDN. Michael has experience working in a variety of settings including hospitals, other non-profit organizations and in the private setting. For the last ten years, Michael has worked full time in higher education. He currently serves as the director of recreation at Berry College. Soraya Cates Parr, BS, CPT
Soraya Cates Parr has been serving the fitness and health industry for thirty-two years, Soraya is a certified group exercise instructor and personal trainer. Her certifications include AEA, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NETA and NSCA-CPT.
After working as fitness coordinator at Baptist Hospital in Nashville Tennessee, she became State Health Educator for Dickson, Houston, and Humphries Counties in Tennessee. This position allowed her the honor of working with the impoverished, the incarcerated, and people with chronic conditions.

Anna Shay McEntee
Anna is a fitness and a holistic healthcare practitioner. She worked as the director of the Health Education and Stress Management in the Santurce Medical Mall in Puerto Rico. She was a regular columnist on fitness and health for the San Juan Star newspaper and other newsletters published by the Santurce Medical Mall and United Health Care in Puerto Rico.
Today, Anna resides in Wellington, Florida, where she teaches and trains in the largest polo and equestrian community. Danielle Noblitt Spangler BS, NASM, Certified Applied Functional Science Gray Institute
As a mother of three, Danielle understands the physical challenges women may face during pregnancy, childbirth and recovery on both a personal and professional level. Danielle is passionate about helping mom’s look and feel their best during and after having children.
She has many years of experience researching the prenatal and postnatal population dating back to 1995 when she attended the University of North Texas. After receiving her B.S in Kinesiology, Danielle attended graduate school to study Exercise Physiology. It was during a graduate level exercise physiology class that Danielle discovered there was very little information about exercise during pregnancy. Danielle began her quest to understand more about the effects of exercise on the pregnant body.
In addition to her college education in this field, Danielle has been certified by several nationally recognized fitness organizations including, the Gray Institute, National Academy of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, AFAA and Cooper Aerobics Institute of Dallas.
Danielle moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and was hired to be the pre and postnatal “master trainer” for the prestigious Sports Club/LA for several years. After giving birth to her first child, Danielle wrote the prenatal fitness continuing education course for the NASM. She then wrote and consulted for publications such as FitPregnancy magazine.
Danielle has mentored many exercise professionals how to safely treat the pre and postnatal clientele. Working with this population, encouraged Danielle to create a studio based exercise program called “Core Mom” (Corrective Obstetrical Related Exercise). This baby friendly exercise program is designed specifically for pregnant women and new mothers. This small group class setting allows for women to safely exercise with other mothers where they learn exercises that will enhance their prenatal and postpartum experience. Jack F. Wasserman, PhD
Dr. Wasserman has a Doctorate of Science in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, and is a retired professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and engineering science. He has taught in the University setting for over 30 years developing course content for several biomechanical engineering courses as well as community and instructor fitness training courses. He was the coordinator for the Biomedical Engineering degree program at the University of Tennessee and has received numerous departmental, college and university teaching awards.
He has been involved in the fitness industry for over 20 years teaching land and water classes to a variety of participants and has presented several courses for fitness professionals in the conference and workshop settings. He is instrumental in developing the educational format for the courses produced by Fitness Learning Systems. He enjoys teaching aquatic fitness classes where he incorporates his engineering and medical concepts into class practice, providing superior training concepts for all ages, especially older adults.

Melissa Weigelt, MS, RYT
Melissa is an ACE Certified fitness instructor, personal trainer, and vinyasa yoga instructor with over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. She is a registered Yoga Alliance instructor, and owns Flow Yoga, LLC, where she teaches specialized corporate fitness, boot camp, and yoga classes throughout Central New York. She has a BA degree in psychology with a minor in biology and an MS degree in counseling, which has enhanced her ability to assist others in reaching their goals in fitness, wellness, and personal development. She has also has certifications in Les Mills BodyPumpTM, Les Mills BodyStepTM, Rep Reebok, and Baron Baptist's Power Yoga, as well as additional courses and workshops in the areas of boot camp training and strength training, with various experts in the field. Melissa specializes in teaching strength and stability training classes, mind-body inspired fitness classes, and yoga. As an AFAA and ACE approved provider of continuing education for fitness instructors, Melissa truly enjoys sharing her knowledge and ideas with others. Her hands-on, down to earth teaching style, creativity, and strong technical knowledge allow her to deliver fun-filled, unique workshops that assist instructors in staying up to date with trends in the fitness industry.

Derrick Wilburn, MBA, BS, CPT, ACE
Derrick Wilburn is a 12-year veteran of high-tech sales, marketing, and business development. He left high-tech, corporate America in January of 2001 and founded Wholly Fit, a company and ministry dedicated to promoting physical well being, he also became a member of the Achieve Fitness USA team. He is a lifelong proponent of healthy, active living, and draws upon his experience in the corporate arena to encourage teams and individuals to achieve lofty goals in the area of physical conditioning. He uses his formal educational background to aid, coach, and assist fitness professionals in the quest to move beyond being personal trainers to being business owners. He also integrates components of improved physical function into presentations for improving and perfecting organizations of all sizes.
He has authored numerous articles on business ownership and entrepreneurialism in the fitness industry, is co-author of "The Success Express", a series of books on entrepreneurialism in the fitness industry, and presents at colleges, universities, fitness certification organizations and fitness conventions.

Mary O. Wykle, Ph.D.
Dr Wykel is President/Owner and primary trainer for MW Associates. Mary is a senior instructor for the Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Institute and regular presenter for the Aquatic Exercise Association, IAFC and a member of the AEA Research Board. She is the recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame Adapted Aquatics Award and chairs the Aquatic Programs for Wounded Warriors committee. Mary is the recipient of numerous national and international awards. She holds board positions with many other organizations and aquatic companies. Additionally, she is past Chair of the College of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences Visiting Committee for WVU. Dr. Wykle is recognized for program development with emphasis on aquatic programming for trauma, core strength, lumbar stabilization (multi-level fusions), athletic rehabilitation and balance training. She led the performance improvement study and developed the two Aquatic Programs for Wounded Warriors for the Army. Most recently, she developed the Aquatic Physical Training Program (AMP-IT) for the U.S. Marine Corps, including training manual, DVDs, and instructor trainer materials and conducted Train the Trainer courses at all Marine Corps installations.
